Parents/Caregivers
Yes, siblings are an integral part of our program. Tell us about them when you register for any of our workshops and our program manager will reach out to you if they need more information.
Currently, all our programs are open for families affected by cancer and other critical medical conditions.
Our goal with the workshops is to build community. We have many caregivers on our team and the Board, and thanks to them, our team artists and volunteers are trained on the nuances of the diagnoses, side effects, challenges, and do’s and don’ts.
Because all our workshops are free and paid for by grants, corporations, or individual donors, photographs help us create positive testimonials and make a case for funding. We have a media release form that all our parents, volunteers, and artists sign. You can opt out of photos if you choose to.
Our patient, survivor, and sibling participants range in age from 4 to 34. Sometimes, younger siblings and older family members join us. We welcome all ages!
Healthcare Professionals
Yes, Amaeyzing ArtKits can be purchased at a reduced facility rate. Please contact us at programs@kidsandart.org for more information.
Once we receive your application, we look at our allocations and funding. Based on that, we assign a certain number of free ArtKits to each hospital. If you need more than the allocated number, you can pay a discounted hospital rate.
Our programs director is your main contact. Reach out and let them know how they can best support you and your patient families. We have hands-on in-person art workshops for Bay Area patients, @Home ArtKits for patients in active treatment, and a referral-based program for families in hospice and in bereavement.
Yes, we have AYA-specific ArtKits your hospital can purchase from us at a discounted price. The ArtKits are created by our artist with the age group in mind.
Artists
Yes. Artists volunteering with Kids & Art can send a link to their personal webpage with a representative image of their work, and we will post it on our Artists page.

Volunteers
Yes, we expect all our volunteers to clear a background check, which we conduct through Cisive (only requires your personal information - name, address, and SSN).
Volunteers who work directly with patients must be at least 21 years old. We would be happy to discuss other ways to involve her, including organizing a fundraising event or securing donations of unopened art supplies. Please contact us at volunteer@kidsandart.org for more information.
Donors
Yes, all donations to Kids & Art are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, as long as no goods or services were exchanged. You will receive an email confirmation immediately after submitting your donation, which can serve as a receipt for tax purposes. If you make your donation via check, you will receive a physical acknowledgment of your gift by mail. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, and our tax identification number is 27-1415727.

It is easy to donate from your donor-advised fund (DAF) through DAF Direct, making it easier to support Kids & Art by giving directly from your donor-advised fund. Please note that we have a platinum seal of transparency on Candid.
You can recommend a grant through DAF Direct, through your fund's portal, or through your financial advisor. Our legal name is Kids & Art Foundation, EIN 27-1415727. Because DAF grants often arrive without donor details, please email donate@kidsandart.org so we can properly thank you. We hold a Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid.
Yes, Kids & Art receives many donations from family and friends who want to acknowledge someone special. We will send an acknowledgment to the person or people you are honoring once we receive your donation.
All donations of any size help support pediatric cancer patients and their families. Just $25 provides an ArtKit to a child. To see how you can make a difference, explore ways to participate on our Get Involved page.
Currently, we do not accept stocks or cryptocurrencies.

Our corporate partners host ArtKit packing events for their teams, sponsor programs and events, activate employee matching gifts, and give directly. We work with each partner to build something that fits their team and lasts beyond a single moment. Thank you for your interest in fundraising for Kids & Art. Here are some suggestions to easily raise funds and have fun too:
- Families: Host a game night, pizza/movie night, or holiday party and encourage donations.
- Schools: Host a bake sale, walk/run-a-thon, an art night, or start a spare change jar.
- Businesses: Donate a portion of sales for a specified period of time.
- Community groups: Host a bike or dance-a-thon, poker/card/casino night, or a pub crawl.
